I do have to say… Literary trash some of it might be, but some of those badly written dime novels have very compelling stories and plots to them, even though the characterization is subpar. The adventure of a tightly paced plot makes it worthwhile to read. Of course, characterization would make it more compelling to read, but you can’t have everything.
On a somewhat related note, I have started writing a novel in which has a definite plot and ending to it, unlike the literary attempts I made, which had neither. I know! Exciting, right?
The novel, for those of you who are curious, is about a dragon who adopts a princess, defeats the princes who woo her (with the princess’s help, of course!), battles with her father in a deadly game of wits, and helps his princess with her dreams of becoming a culinary master chef. So far, I’m about a tenth of the way through writing it… I think. Expect more updates as I continue to write! Also, feel free to follow me on Twitter for more updates!
