This is the second version of this comic. My husband (who, at that point, was only my friend) contacted me to tell me that there was a huge error in the first version, so I had to fix it.
And that’s basically why I married him.
As far as this comic goes, this is the equation that frustrated math tutors give to their algebra students they are tutoring, if the algebra students are failing and refuse to have help. If they find the error, the tutors leave them alone after a brief discussion. If they don’t? The students reluctantly get tutored.
