Back at the beginning of the new millenium at the 8 am mass, my priest was enthusiastically talking about the movie, “Pay It Forward (2000)” and how it was such a good, inspiring movie that truly showed how much good deeds mattered.

Except, he didn’t call it that. He misspoke and called it “Payback (1999)” or the Mel Gibson movie, which dealt with vengeance.

Later, in the noon mass, he sheepishly admitted that his mistake. “So, watch “Pay It Forward” and not “Payback!” he said very firmly.
