True story! When I first had my baby, everybody and their brother told me, “Oh, she needs a pacifier. She needs a pacifier. She’s crying… have you considered a pacifier?” And she would not take the pacifier. At all. She only became remotely interested in it when she discovered that she had hands and found the shape of the pacifier interesting to hold. Otherwise? Nope. Not happening.

What I’m trying to say here is that, A) not all babies take pacifiers, and B) this whole scenario seemed really tempting at the time…

Speaking of babies, I really don’t recommend spraining your ankle when you’re the mother of a 1-year-old. It’s highly inconvenient. On the plus side, I can now put weight on my foot for a short time without being in agony. Huzzah!
